In
order to help our
clients conform to current legislation regarding asbestos, including
the "Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006" Energico tailors its
Asbestos Surveys to meet the exacting requirements and needs of each
site. There are two types of Asbestos Surveys:
Asbestos Management Survey
A management survey is the
standard asbestos survey that
should
be
carried
out for the continued management of asbestos in premises. It is
a non-intrusive survey, although may involve small amounts of damage
during sampling. The survey
will primarily involve sampling and analysis to confirm the presence or
absence
of ACMs. An asbestos management survey can
also involve presuming the presence or absence of asbestos. This type
of survey can
be completed using a combination of sampling ACMs and presuming ACMs
or,
indeed, just presuming. Any materials presumed to contain asbestos must
also be
assessed (ie material assessment). Once the survey has been completed
our staff, where necesaary, will compile an asbestos register, conduct
a risk assessment and provide advise and recommendations on the best
course of action.
Refurbishment and Demolition Survey
A refurbishment and demolition survey is needed before any
refurbishment or demolition work is carried out. This type of survey is
used to locate and describe, as far as reasonably practicable, all ACMs
in the area where the refurbishment work will take place or in the
whole building if demolition is planned. The survey will be fully
intrusive and involve destructive inspection, as necessary, to gain
access to all areas, including those that may be difficult to reach.
All
of
our surveyors are fully qualified to BOHS P402 standard. Energico
takes the safety of its clients and staff very seriously and ensures
that appropriate precasutions are taken during every survey.
For
transparency
and quality of service to our clients we only charge
£5+VAT for any samples taken, which is exactly what our UKAS
accredited laboratory charges us.
